I'm leaving on a jet plane. Don't know when I'll be back again...

Well it's finally here...It's my last official day in Canada! Tomorrow I get on the plane and fly off to Australia. It's still all a big blur really. I think I've just been way too busy in the last few weeks to focus on it and get really excited. I think the reality of it hasn't fully hit me yet. When I get on the plane tomorrow, it'll be real...very real. I am predicting a pretty emotional send off. It's been tough saying all of my goodbyes over the last week or so. I've had to say goodbye to a lot of good friends and family. I'm definitely going to miss these people! A lot of tears have been shed and hugs given. I didn't realize how hard it would be. I think it's going to be an amazing experience though, so it's all worth it.

On Saturday, I had a big bbq with my neighbours to celebrate my big move. We had lots of delicious hot dogs and hamburgers, salads, cheese and crackers, drinks and good company. It was a nice way to end my time in Waterloo.

On Sunday morning, I completely emptied out my apartment. It's hard to believe that I've lived there for almost three years now. It was so strange to see it all empty. It reminded me of the last episode of Friends where they all place their keys on the counter and leave Monica and Chandler's apartment empty. It's sad, but also exciting because it means you're on a new adventure.

Well, I'm all packed up and have said all my goodbyes. It's now Wednesday night and I will be getting on the plane in 18 hours! It's hard to believe that it's finally here. Although it feels great to have gotten rid of so much random stuff that I had in my apartment, I never want to have to do that again. It was SO much work to sell, give away or throw out almost everything I own. It was also very difficult to decide on what to bring. I only have two suitcases, a carry-on and my laptop to bring. I had to get creative on how to pack my luggage in order to fit more in. I originally started with the basic folding approach, but realized not everything would fit. I then moved on to rolling all the clothes tightly like a sleeping bag, which proved to be a better strategy.

I am writing this blog as my last one in Canada. The next time I write one will be in Australia. Thanks to all my friends and family that have helped me to prepare for this trip and made it possible. The title of this blog really says it all. I've got a one-way ticket to Australia and have no idea when I'll be back again. Can't wait for my new Australian adventures! See you later Canada!
